I totally agree about the flange, that is something I'll never forgive Mopar for doing.

While I do understand your reasoning, that set up was never meant to be the ultimate, but it was something that worked and was inexpensive.

After adding the four barrel (I don't remember if that carb was a 390 or a 600 with the secondaries wired shut, I had two different four barrels on it at one time or another) the car didn't pick up much compared to the stock single barrel.

My next attempt is going to be the 170 in my Valiant, I'll be using a T3 from a 2.2, the one barrel Holley in a pressure box and instead of modifying the exhaust manifold I'm going to build a J-pipe. Once I get it together I'll post up.

Do you have a website for your car? I'd love to see how you did things. EFI is way out of my price range.

I know it wasn't an ultimate power setup, but I still think it has a bit of room for improvement. Namely, welding cast iron is very tough to pull off correctly, and I think even on a stock motor it would have worked better with a larger turbo. Your new approach sounds a lot better, but you might want to consider one of the larger DSM turbos or a Holset HX35.

I've got a build diary going at this site:

No doubt! I can't take credit for the manifold, I had to pay to have that done. It was the most expensive part of the set up.

Now, like then I have to use what I have so I'll be using that T3 and I'll see what she'll do.
