How would you fit a large flange BBD from a 383 onto a two barrel slant without using an adapter? Every big block two barrel Mopar Ive seen used the large BBD or the large Holley 2245.
Now the small flange BBD from a 273/318 will bolt directly up on the slant and run good all day. Ditto for the Stromberg WW3 (from a poly 318) and in some cases, the Holley 2280 from later 318s.
Im running an old Stromberg WW3 on my slant and runs like melted ice cream on a sunny Miami day in July.

I avoid the holley 2280 at all costs. they use that vacuum power piston that seems to fail routinely....every one ive had i end up trashing because that wretched power piston wouldnt hold vacuum and they are not found in any zip kit for the carb

what are the cfm ratings for:

the slant six bbd?

the 318 bbd?

and the 383 bbd?

I have had both the 390 holley and 500 holley on my car. I sold both. The 390 ran well for it being a stock to mild engine. I installed this after the 500 2bbl, reason being was cuz the performance wasnt there, she did give me about 16mpg but she leaked and backfired, I had the set screw in for the power valve block off, but something was always wrong. The 390 when I dynoed it, the secondaries werent opening, apparent vaccuum leak on the diaphram. I replaced the diaphram and the correct spring and the engine only gave out 101hp to the rear wheels, Which I find very strange. I have since replaced it with an Eddy 500 4bbl, havent done the dyno yet, but i still pull 16mpg and run with stout small blocks.

The 2245 flows380 cfm at 3.0 inch Hg pressure drop. They have a 2 x 3.68 stud pattern.They also have a gradient or smoothly-varying power valve.
