I donno where you're lookin', but I've managed to find good rad shops in Colorado, Oregon, Michigan (upper and lower) and Wisconsin in the last decade. They *ARE* out there, you just have to look harder to find them nowtimes.

As far as new cores costing less, that's great as far as it goes. Ever try finding a new core for a '60-'62 Valiant/Lancer? :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:

Try looking for said shops in central GA...

I think you misunderstood my point about the cost of recores - I didn't mean that the price on brand new stuff had come down. I meant the shops in this area price recore work so high to encourage you to purchase new so they can get you in and out and not have to do any work.

OK, I get you, but what do they do when there's no such a thing as a new core for your application?

Pr'aps the idea, then, is to scout around outside GA. Even with postal costs, if rad work is so expensive in your area, you'd be better off. Hemmings Motor News (or www.hemmings.com) might be a good place to start, or just an ordinary google search.
