There is your problem. Someone changed out the rear, at one time to the small bolt pattern drum brake unit, or did a disc brake conversion. What you will need to do, to get the same bolt pattern, front and back, is to change the rear, to a 7 1/4 from a disc brake "A" body, or convert to a 8 1/4 rear. |

what size is the small bolt pattern? a 8 1/4 will bolt right in pretty much?? |

The large bolt pattern is a 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. The small is 4 inch bolt pattern. A 8 1/4 rear from an "A" body will bolt in, be will need a shorter driveshaft. Take a look here. http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic ... highlight= |

5 x 100 mm. Almost, but not quite, the same as 5 x 4". The offset is usually wrong, too.
