I would like around 14* mechanical and run 14-15 inital advance. I could probably send a core next week. I have a rebuilt distributer sitting on a shelf in the garage but havent had the heart to take appart an almost new CLEAN distributer. |

I just found out, I have a family reunion, the following weekend, in Pottstown, Pa. So, I am going to try and make both. Will not know till the time gets closer, and I see what the money situation is. Over 1,000 miles each way, at 6.5 mpg. |

Charlie, We'd LOVE to have you. You are sure right that it's a long way to tow. While I'm sure you want to bring the juice or turbo car,(which I'd really like to see) I can still offer one of my own if you fly up early instead. I might even be convinced to let you use it for the week while you are here. It's not often you'll make it this far north and your attendance would be a real treat! Let me know if there is anything else I can do to make it happen for you. To anyone else who may have considered using one of my cars, I've only got 2 cars that are ready to drive. I'm driving the fastest (the aspen) unless someone wants to pay to use it. The scamp is stock and I doubt it's barely into the teens. The truck will go, but is slower than slow and I wouldn't be surprised if it got a 10 second head start against a really fast car. The diplomat has been on hold since the day it arrived and I doubt it would be ready to move under it's own power unless someone really twists my arm soon. Most of the parts are here, but time is the missing link. I hope to get to the track this week for some test and tune action before I'll be installing a pile of upgrades which will hopefully get me solidly into the 17's this season. |

O.K. now that Columbus is passed, we can focus all our attention on the big Pittsburgh Chrysler classic. The list of confirmed looks a bit like this: 1 Me, 2 Phil, 3 Phil's brother-in-law in one of my cars, 4 Greg, 5 Brian has a good plan for having his car ready, 6 Seymour, 7 Jim Cox just needs to fix some electrical problem, 8 Dale Rose said he's in, 9 Ron Parker said he's never been to Pittsburgh and wants to come up, 10 Slanted Brain, Never fear, there are several 'possible' others that haven't responded or I can't recall what they said. In addition, there are usually a few hard core sixers that come out of the hills of PA who will enter. I've got 4 slant six powered mopars at the moment. I can't drive them all, but I'm really only looking for one more to get entered. (the truck is just a little too slow and rough around the edges) The new CC events owners made a change this year that slant six is no longer a free class with any other entry. You will have to pay full price for the first class and 1/2 for the second. I guess too many of the slant six guys where winning money in the sportsman class. |

I am planning on coming, Paul, but not sure which car I'll bring yet. I'll see if I can rustle up a compatriot or two. Lou |

I'm still trying to make it. Can't say for sure yet, but looking good. Working on earning enough money to pay for the gas for about 2200 miles at 6.5 mpg. Is there overnite camping at the track? Is there a Friday TnT? What time does the trak open? |

Charlie, The track schedule says friday is test and tune for chrysler classic events participants only and the gates open at 3 pm. The date is the 21,22,23 of July in case anyone still doesn't know. I don't know about overnight camping. Forced to guess, I'd say, the rules say no overnight camping. The track has restrooms, but no showers or other camping stuff. Keystone state park is only 5 or 10 minutes drive from the track. You can hear the test and tune from the camping area. They have camping, showers, rv hook up, and primitive cabins. It might pay to make reservations if you want to stay there and I will see what I can find out if you need more info. Lou, I know I'd like to get another look at either project V or the megasquirt system on your dart, so please come and run what you brung. We missed you at columbus. Everyone, Greg has suggested a group meeting after the races on saturday. I think it will be at his place. We should all get together to talk and eat before everyone drives home. I hope everyone can plan on staying a few extra hours for that. More info to come. |

I doubt I will be as quick as I was hoping since the sure grip in the 3.91's is shot. I could put in the 4.56's but then I would be at top speed by half track I'm looking forward to seeing you all there! |
