I have to get pretty serious! The Ramrods posted a 12.78@106mph. My best time as been a 14.50!!!!!! Time to pull out the stops and get serious before the hamb drags. This week will be major tear down and rebuild. Probably back out to test and tune this friday. Last friday's test and tune was a major dissapointment. We ran a 22@85 and a 15@87. The shifter just won't let me shift. I am getting a new shifter tomorrow. replacing the old cheap mr gasket shifter with something that might actually let me change gears!

Well, collected headers will help the power a lot. If you want to go trick (1960 trick that is) you'll need to step up and give that slant the full Hyper-Pak. Also, the later factory 3 speed shifters are pretty good as are the A230 full syncro 3 speeds they came on. It's pretty much a 3 speed A833 as far as strength goes.

I am going to do the collected headers this winter. Not enough time or money to get a new set made. Power isn't the issue yet. I just can't get the thing to change gears. I made a stupid mistake and bent the shifter at a very strange angle and with the cheapo mr gasket shifter it twists and won't let the thing get from low to second. Once I resolve that it will be easily in the 13's.

Any more updates on the car? If the Mr Gasket shifter proves to be too awful I'm sure someone on the board can hook you up with something better.

still having shifter problems. We ran the car this past weekend and ran 15.50's again. I just can't make that shift from 1st to 2nd. I am going to run the car again, and try just 2nd and 3rd.

If anyone has a lead on a good shifter, please let me know.

I posted the original pictures of your rail over here after a friend who works in Tulsa sent me the HAMB link (he was at the HAMB drags with the "Barbarian" car).

I think I have a spare 3 speed (230) but it would be a late 60's early 70's trans so I am guessing it would be outside the rules, and I thought I had an a-body Inland 3-speed floor shifter from the same car. Any chance you are gonna bring that thing up to ST Louis for the Monster Mopar show this coming weekend?

Cool! That speed shows me that you have 12 second capabilities. Is that thing spinning off the line or just lazy? :D

A little lazy. It seems to be running very lean. I have made a jet change I am going to test out this friday. Also, my gears may be a little high. I am running a 4.11 rear. We are thinking of going to something more like 4.62.

I ran a 13.65@99, a 13.60@99 and a 13.59@99 last friday night. I made an intake change. I am running the offy 2 singles intake with 2 holley 1945's. I also changed the rear to a 4.62. It really seems to like the new intake setup.

What happened to the MPH? If you really slowed down that much you lost a bunch of power, but the gears improved the ET. If you can put the 4bbl back on and get it to work you should go much quicker.

do to some personal issues, I have to sell the crooked 6. The car is available as a turn key or as a roller with out motor/tranny. I am posting it in the for sale section. Thanks to all for the advice and support over the past couple years.
