Also any books for info on the a833 o.d?
That info will be in the factory service manual.

I would like to rebuild the tranny
Why, is it broken?

And while I have you here, any suggestions on the aluminum slant?
Very rare, not suitable for high-perf buildups, not a cost-effective way to go for the kind of project you're working with.

Shoot,I was hoping for the weight savings with the slant block. I am going to eliminate the power steering, but will be adding a/c(117+ temps in the summer...ouch) definatly an aftermarket kit with the lightweight sanden compressor, and compact heater/ac box!

What all can I do for weight savings? Like I said I am going to add a/c,small stereo system(head unit ,2 6 inch speakers in the kick panels,2 6x9's in the rear deck,a 10 or 12 in. sub-inabox and amp.) undercoating, and a LOT of sound deadner(dynamat etc......)

Any Ideas on how to equal that out? Aluminum pieces from a feather duster?) light weight wheels(this might be tricky/expensive) Aluminum intake, steel tube headers, aluminum rad???Mabey a fiberglass hood?

On the tranny,I am not shure what is wrong with it,since I dont have the car yet. The owner says it shifts fine, but sometimes ofter cruising in o.d it will stick in gear, and how he gets it out is to hold down the gas pedal when he presses in the clutch??? I am not shure what that can be???

You can also get decent mileage and go drag racing with the 3.91 gearset, but your in town mileage if doing lots of 'light to light' can suffer (or just liking the response when you sidestep the clutch).

That would be "dumping the clutch"... long ago we used to call it 'sidestepping' like your 'foot fell off' the clutch pedal so concerned parents thought it was an 'accident' that you just peeled your Dad's new tires for 30 feet trying to get that car moving....

So any general build ideas? Cam specs-overbore-bigger valves-double roller timing chain??? What do you guys think? Comp ratio? Whats the best year for the 225 slant?

Gears will most likely be 3.55's,and will run a 235-60-15's front and rear. Just want something with a nice fat power band that can wind to about 6,000 r.p.m. Runs on 91 pump, and gets fairly good gas miliage? I was thinking a clifford 4 bbl intake for better 'high R.P.M' action, mabey with a 2 bbl. adapter and a holley 500 2bbl?
