Wow, only $2,250.00, must have been a slow week on ebag.

speaking of hyper-paks,
I called Clifford Perf. Products yesterday. (I know, I'm dancin' with the devil....) to ask them about a 268 cam. They have it on shelf (A+), and ready to ship. I assume it's a decent cam....peak tq @ 3300.
Anyway, I also asked them about the hyper-pak. He actually put it down!!!
Like he didn't reccomend it....he said it was a "pain in the @*%" to run on the street. Said the fuel puddled in the intake. :? Is that true? He said the ram-flow was better...Oh well. I may just buy an Offy and forget it. :)

Well, that's a good answer if it's the truth. If it's another one of their famous fairytales, it's not such a good answer. Just something to keep in mind.

You can probably do better.

Fuel puddling can be a problem at low RPM, yes, but I'm so skeptical after hearing years and years and years' worth of bad experiences with Clifford that my first guess is he knows his casting quality is garbage and he doesn't want to admit it.

I'm really liking my erson 270º cam. erson also has a dual pattern cam wich is very nice (284º/292º .495 lift or something like that) that's in the 240º @ 050 ballpark. $119 on summit racing. LCA is 108

Here are cold, hard facts. I would doubt other manifolds would give you the same VE, and thus, horsepower.

what is interesting is that mopar recognized a problem with the intake too and recommended a mod to it to make the problem go away GRT

Although this is very true the dyno sheet doesnt show below 2500rpm and it is not in street driving condistions. I am not saying the intake would puddle up when idleing around just that the dyno sheet really dont tell anything about how the street manners would be.

This long of a runner on a intake does tend to build a lot of fuel up on the walls as all intakes do. But with longer runners you just have more wall for it to build up on. Under WOT conditions this would not be a big problem but idling & tipin it could get a bit stumbly. If it was heated this could help. And also the sides of the walls tecture would effect how much fuel was hanging around. Fuel injection systems even calculate this accerance into there fueling maps and some even have this function ajustable to match up with how much fuel is on the walls ( such as the Accel DFI system).

Is the Clifford HP repo intake the same intake as DD repo intake? I bet the HP would be great for a EFI conversion, you would get the torque the intake can provide and the EFI would even out the cylinders on fuel.

I have never had to deal with Clifford and with all the stories going around I am sure one needs to pay attention when dealing with them. But I do feel there intake would give great power ( But I have never run one to know) for a engine that had a pretty big cam and alot of head & exhaust flow. It does seem like there was someone that posted going from the Offy to the Clifford and they lost a lot of torque on the bottom. They did state that there may be a retune needed before the intake was up to par but didnt follow up with results to confirm this.

The Clifford intake is a Bigger volume runner than the Offy and would sute a high flowing head with more CID ( 100 over bore) and a cam made for the higher RPMs. This is expected results with any engine and going to a bigger runner intake.

I dont know if it was noticed but Clifford does have there Intake,Adaptor,Gaskets, Bolts,Headers & collectors on a package deal for $608.00 now. If someone was to want to run there stuff and needed all this it is a pretty good price from buying them seperate. Not trying to push there product but just to let you know if you was in the market. The stuff may be pure junk I do not know.

I personally would like to try all three intakes on a well built /6 to see the real results and power curves that each produce. I picked up three /6 engines today & one with 38000 miles so this will give me the chance to build a good one. I have been holding off because I only had one engine to work with and didnt want to maybe push things and break something without having goods backup parts to keep the project going incase I blow the engine. I also got a 67 Cuda /6 complete car but it is a little rough but this will give me a good body to work with instead of pulling my Dart apart and having it down for a wail. So I will have 4 engines to work with & three of them being the Big Convertor registor cranks with trannies to go with them. I never like to build a car without extra parts which is way I still have help onto 3 extra Big Blocks for my Big Block car with atleast 4 727 BB trannies to go with them. Some of this stuff I have held onto for 20 years but the time has come that I am going to be able to do something with them. And the /6 prodject is going to get its go also so maybe if I can find all these intakes off of Evil Bay at a fair price I will get to compair them with dyno results & complete tunes to go with each. I will also be using a turbo so this will help push the limits of each to see fuel distrabution per cylinder of each intake. After Xmas I will start looking for intakes.
