I'll do a little more research on removing the inner spring....I can see how that would make break-in that much easier on the cam.
I do think these guys know what they are doing. The only thing I'm remotely concerned about, with the cam itself: Lash is only .014. This tells me either (1) the cam is of a very good grind quality, and doesn't need execess lash to make up for lobe deficiencies, or (2) the cam has a radical "drop ramp", and really lets the valves down fast; requiring a tight lash to keep the lifter in contact with the lobe. The only thing with that is, valves/springs/seats will wear faster....but it will make more power. It has hardened seats, so I've done all I can do there. I believe overall it will be a well running setup, with great street manners. I put alot of research into it.....I'll be happy to share everything about it when I get 'er on the road. I don't believe in keeping "secret" engine numbers... after the race is over. It slows everyone else down, and doesn't contribute to the sport. We gotta help each other out!
Thanks again guys,
BBBanjo

Well, I found another bit of info, that changes everything.
I called the machinist again, and found out that the installed height was just under 1.700. Hhmm..... His assistant measured it at 1.600, and that's the number he gave me. Also...springs height is 1.750, not 1.7.
That's how it goes. I'm just glad I didn't order springs for a 1.6 height. :x
The current springs are @ 120 lb. at 1.750. Too much. Schnieder said they sent the wrong springs. period. I hope they take 'em back/exchange without a riot. I'm a reasonable guy...but I don't like the thought of someone @#&*%^!# me because of their mistake...
I'll let you know how it works out.

Sounds par for the course. Just a nother good example why people really need to pay attention & check everything no matter what other people involved tell you.
