Take another look and see what you think. I have revised the collector and it is a lot smoother. I also raised the turbo angle for a tighter clearance. I still need to intergrate the wastegate. Working with 304 stainless is a pain in the neck.
Just looked at the pics and it does look smoother. Like I said (and cmexlr8 said), I'm not sure if it matters but couldn't hurt.

Thanks Charrlie for the pic, I would have never thought it would clear the hood. Then again a sidedraft never crossed my mind either.

With the webber carb it did clear the hood. That carb did not work well, though. Had a bad bog at low speed wot condidtion. Could not get enough pump shot. I wound up with a 500 Holley 2bbl on a 90 degree adapter, which worked well. However I did have to use a hood scoop and put the air cleaner up in the scoop.

Post subject:  It Fits

The header fits like a glove. I will be posting some pics later.

The header fits good. There may be some clearance issues if somone has milled the heads alot. The only place it may hit is the adjusting nut on the steering box. I am sure that can worked out.

We are going to try to do this right not just throw parts at and say lets go. Yall aint seen nothing yet. :D Thanks Ron Parker :D

Bagels On Juice Im On Boost.

One thing to look out for guys is the oil drain back for the turbo, the pics are hard to tell what kinda angles & down flow you have. Just check it and make sure it flows good on the oil return, if it dont it will cause smokeing. No turns, kinks, needs to go stright down to oil pan or what ever it goes to.

As far as the header flow, you can put a copper tube in it ( like a oil pressure line tube) and run it to a Map sensor and measure the exhaust pressure. This will greatly effect HP,spool up, level at which detination becomes a problem, how much boost you can run safely and how quick the torgue of the engine falls off if the system builds back pressure.

Although you do see many V8s running log headers, they have so much HP that a loss of HP from things like this is not noticed as much. And the biggest problem they have is blowing head gaskets when they do have compromizes. Ofcourse they can make up for things like this with the tune up,race fuel, but they also (in the cass of something like a LS1) have a lot better combustion chamber to work with. And most are running race fuel from the get go.

As a rule of thumb, you can double the HP with 15 psi of boost on a effeicant engine & turbo setup.

Good Luck with your prodjects, be looking forward to seeing some screaming /6's.

Jess

Thanks for that tip Tom already warned me about that but all help is appreciated. Right now unless we change our mind Im looking at a Borg Warner T-4 60-1 fast spooling turbo. A adjustable boost preasure gate and I know what cam profile im going to use. Thanks Ron Parker :D

Bagels In A World Of Trouble

Good luck with your turbo build Possum. I am watching closely. I am 100% convinced that a turbo is the best way to build power, but I am still skeptical about a carbureted system for bracket racing. I'd be skeered to get hung out on the tree and leaving at low boost. Make me a believer buddy.

Well Bagel thats why im trying to just not get parts and buil this engine we are doing a lot of research and trying to build a engine for this project
Question for you 2.2 turbo pistons 1mm over where does that take you on the engine bore. Thanks Possum
