Newlancer I think your design looks great, but the one off cost to make that emblem, and it looks like it would need to be an emblem to look that good, is about $500. At least that was about the price when I was checking about 4-5 months ago. |

Thanks Ed! B--I have no idea how much it would cost to make a metal emblem--maybe sick6 can CNC one up for you. You also could take the elements for a sticker no problem--and in fact use it in a different place vs. at the barracuda section of the fender. Ultimately its your car, and you should go with what you like. Im not a fan of the 70s cuda logoing or graphics, so I tried to make this closer to what you have with your emblem. Where did you have making emblems investigated? What about a trophy place or something like that which could use plastic? just thinking outloud.... MJ |

the trophy places around here don't or can't make them. I don't remember but it was a couple of places online. I realize it my discision. I just thought many brains storming makes for better ideas and better results, unlike my first idea. After careful consideration it really did look chessy. |

yeah I have to say, its one of those things that you will probably want to have something that looks pretty good, otherwise it may be a bit silly. I'm sure there are some people that can help make something, depending on how much you want to pay... or you could make a transparent window sticker instead. or heck, you could get really fancy and make a magnet that might look 3-D just for fun. Personally, I wouldn't put a sticker on my car if it looked as nice as yours does. I'd be interested to see if anyone could help us have some plastic or metal pieces made. We could simplify the design a lot to make it easier to manufacture. This is something I did in 20 minutes since I didn't feel like working on what I should be doing! =) MJ |

Something like that wouldn't be too hard to cast in aluminum with a lost wax or investment casting technique, in small quantities. Sand casting would work, but the surface finish might not be what you want. |

sv--can you say a little more about the wax casting and where something like that could be done and what would be necessary to provide them. I assume we'd have to make an actual 3-d model of it (which someone with skills will have to do--I have no artistic talents whatsoever...I can just manipulate it digitally) thanks MJ |

Casting like that can be done at home - if you're adventurous. I made my first castings in a junior-high shop class, so it isn't that hard. Look HERE and HERE and HERE for more information. If you're not that brave, you might ask around the local arts/crafts stores and local colleges. They may know of local artists and jewelers using various casting techniques. Some schools offer vocational classes in casting, as well. |

thanks I'll check it out! I'm just artistically retarded, so brave has nothing to do with it MJ |
