Yes others did use them, but most of the time they was either angle gears(the quit type) or that fiber type gears (again a quit setup). If you have ever road a car with a stright cut gear setup I think you would agree it would get very old , very quick. Its just symply not the real cool sound like a Blower makes. And it does transmit alot of vibrations to the cam itself. As far as performance,accuracy & durability it will be hard to beat a two roller chain setup. The only thing that may be better would be a belt drive setup like a Jessel. But they dont make them for the Slant. But one could be made. If you really want the Cool sound, Put a blower on it & have the real thing. Or a Turbo with a loud BOV would be what some think is a cool sound & you get performance to boot. Jess |
