I had occasion today to go back and look through that "eBay Madness" thread, and I've changed my mind: I did mouth-off inappropriately at engnbldr. I shouldn't've done it, and will try to avoid behaving similarly in future. I have a call in to Ted (engnbldr) to apologise directly to his ear.

Dan, you might want to get a set of those valves for your stash while you are at it. They are really nice and who knows how long they will be available.

I bought TED the complete set of valves, guides and locks.

He sent this SET to my country (ARGENTINA) and when it came to my hands, TED warns me for E-mail that the SET had wrong Exhaust valves... the set was assembled badly in factory.

I confirmed to TED for E-mail the mistake and he sent a complete SET of Valves to my country again... FREE!!!

Does not matters thousands of miles from Oregon to Buenos Aires, the AFTER-SALES Guarantee service was excellent

THANK YOU TED AGAIN!!!!

Gabriel.-

Well if they're not Chinese where are they from?

I also purchased a set from Ted (as a matter of fact I was the first customer he had from down here and then I recommended them among my fellow slanters) and I can assure you they're not chinese. Some of them are stamped "ARROW" or something like that, but they're definitely NOT chinese. Top notch craftsmanship and finish, good material, excellent product. Seals are racing teflon seals, guides are manganese bronze sith serrated head for positive seal, we're talking excellent quality here. I know Ted gets valves from all around the world and he gets some of his products from argentina (not for slant six vehicles but still) but this valves he sells for slant six engines aren't chinese.

Arrow Automotive Industries is/was a US company, if they still exist. They filed Chapter 11 in '98. They sold the Crankshaft division in '99. They may still be operating some of their divisions. I guess they shut down in Arkansas and possibly the division in California as well.
Loss of Customer base. Wonder were that work went?

>>>*No need, I tend to get a bit mouthy myself from time to time. I dropped in here to say hi and see what was going on, I guess I am not used to being challenged since the Toyota guys seem to think I am some kind of guru.

Fact is, I'm not, just an old guy retired (sorta) after some 45 years of building and breaking racing engines. We have no association with Arrow, though. We are www.enginepartsnetwork.com .

Anyway, hope you and I are good Dan, nice to see you post that especially since the 24th was my birthday, I turned 64 (or is it 65, I forget..*LOL**)

Everybody asks where I have valves made, I grow them in my back yard from GENUINE french imported stainless steel racing seed....*LOL**..

Oh, all right. We use a company in Argentina now, I managed to worm my way into their good graces. The line has proven now to be a success, I am kinda proud of them.

Anyways, thank you. I would like to drop in from time to time, hope I am welcome....*EB
