I haven't seen an issue of "Hot Rod" in at least 15 years. Didn't even know it was still in print. Care to scan the article?
I'll see if I can scan the relevent photos, or find the pictures online. A lot of the article was about their efforts to blow up the motor with a 175 shot of nitrous, so there's just a couple photos of the K-car TBI on there.

Hi

I am running a Projection 4Di - the digital version

It is quite tunable, but the software sucks, youcan get an eeprom upgrade and buy 3rd party software (A chart Pro) it will work out about $250 BUT the software is unsupported, Holley Bought the software out - or copied the code

and bundles it with the commander 950 ecu upgrade pn 950-100

It is all nice and all but with the exchange rate US$ to RSA Rand it works out to R11000 ($980) and the support is on your side of the pond

This company http://www.dicktator.co.za/

Makes ecu's that is compatible and costs R2100 - it even can handle the ignition! :D :D :D :D

http://www.mrturbo.co.za/ is another option but cannot handle the IAC motor

Gues what I am picking up tomorrow to replace my projection ECU

Spend your money on a good Wide band O2 system, and buy the stuff needed to allow the Holley to be tuned beyond the norm (screw in air bleeds, PVRC,ect, ect, ect). The Holley can really run sweat if dialed in right & it will make more power than the TBI. It will take some time, but it can run sweat, with great response, and get great fuel milage if the time is put in to it.

I've never read anything good about the Holleys. Other than people used the TB and went with a different controller.

Well both the companies I mentioned earlier gave me a system to test

They work :? sort of not nice :(

Then i tried a Haltech F10X - cool it works it tunes is R5000 cheaper than the commander 950 ecu and there is a full blown agent locally

I quite happy :D
