The early A body I saw with one was a '66 Dart. The owner unbolted the motor from the mounts, lifted it high enough so he could bolt the header to the motor, then dropped the motor into the car. The tubes clearanced themselves!
That sounds like someone, we both know and love. |

Quote: Quote: Does any one know if the long 3x2 Hooker headers will fit in a 74 Swinger with power steering and automatic?
The only option I know they will not fit for sure is power brakes. The #6 tube comes way out along the firewall and will hit the booster.I see Summit still sells them. Do all the tubes come out stright like that on the Hookers ? I have always wandered how /6 headers can even flow right with the many tight turns they take. I guess no worse than most V8 setup but it helps them quit abit if they can come out stright for awail before they start making any turn/bends. Any good pics of these headers installed on 67-76 A body cars. Jess |

I will take a few pictures of mine on a 67 Dart and post them in a few days. They are the Mopar/ J&R that are no longer available. I called West Oaks Dodge found 6 sets in the system but The warehouse could only find 1 set. Called J&R to see if I could get more and just got laughed at. Would not make any no matter how many sets I would order. So I made a appointment to see the owner at TTI and took the 6 into 1 's and a set of Clifford shorty's and asked if he wanted to produce them. I don't want to say that he said no,,, Just that he doesn't think that there is a market out there. I will see them again in April. Maybe if I had a showing of who would want them( maybe )they would reconsider. As always I'm sure that they won't be cheap. The J&R's cost me about $200 bucks with shipping and another $300 to have them coated in and out. |

Thanks for the offer, but the Hooker Super Comps are the ones I was referring to about the pics. I found a pretty good pic of the top side but not any thing about how they clear streering & suspension. I dont really want something that hangs low because it is a daily driver. Jess |

I had to notch the strut on my Duster that goes to the tranny. It is a tight fit with the 3 on the tree and Zbar for the clutch. Hookers The MP 6 into 1 wouldn't clear the Zbar |

I just want headers, but I would prefer longs. If it'll be cheeper then the Hooker 3-1 then I would consider Now the question of how it would fit if I get power brakes. I have the long barrel unit, not the flat round one I see alot of |

Also, just for other's info- I put Clifford 3/2's on a 69 Dart, automatic with column shift and they fit o.k.- no hammering, but they fit tight- similar to a 440 A body w/ headers that just fit. |

At the last mopars at th strip (07) I spoke with the guys at TTI and the rep said they were in the process of making them but when the 3G hemi cme out they dropped the Idea. Maybe we should flood them with calls for headers and see what hapens |

Doug Thorley. Bet they would do it. Maybe make a Tri-Y. They make them for trucks with small blocks. |
