Another place to check is the area between the upper control arm bushings on the car. My 67 A-body had corrosion hidden there. We ended up welding on the area from the front door post forward from a donor car. Came out pretty OK in the final analysis. 8)

CFind - I have a 61 Valiant which I started working on which I'm prepared to give away to a good home . . . just North of Calgary. I'm just not finding the time to get it done.

I agree with everything said so far ESPECIALLY the part of buying the best car you can afford. As someone who restores cars for a living (or trys to make aliving at it :lol: ), Bodywork is expensive even if you do it yourself. Try to find a car that is as complete as possible. While any parts can be found, they may not be easily found or cheap.
