Actually you were responding to my (Bob D) post here. I know that this can get a little confusing sometimes. For a used 3.8L Buick turbo check out <A HREF="http://www.Gnttype.org/trader/traderads ... ds.html</A>. I saw a couple there recently.

Hopefully Doug will chime in here and tell us. I think the easiest way is to just e-mail the pictures to him.

I just bought a garret turbo off a turbo coupe at the junk yard complete for $25. The man there is a good friend of mine. He has played with turbos before took me over to a few Mercures they had the same garret turbo's on the same 2300 engine as the turbo coupe. Seams like a good sourse to me they are plentiful.

Madmax,

To post Picture(s) on the message board, the image needs to be "up-loaded" onto the internet.
(or it could already be posted at some website)
Once you have the on-line image, copy / paste the URL address into the Optional Image URL post box below the message field.
(It has to be the full "http://www....jpg" address)
If you don't have the PICs on the web, I can work with you to get them uploaded.
The big trick with web site PICs is to crop them down and compress the size so they download fast.

Yes it was from switching from the small turbo too the bigger one. Don't be ashamed It is a learning experence doing something costom. Just learn from the mistakes and move on. I had to make my headers 3 times before I got what I wanted. As for the antifreezes do you mean for the cooling of the turbo? The small .48 a/r turbo got me to 15.12 @ 89 mph which I was very happy with, but I just wanted to see how far I can take the /6. One more thing the turbos from the 2.2 and the 2.5 engines are basicly the same.

CC used four distinctly different turbos and two different manufactures over the life span of the 2.2 / 2.5 family of turbo motors. The best choice for a slant 6 (not that it would better than a 3.8 GM turbo) would be the Garrett Unit out of an 89 and newer Inter-Cooled Turbo car as well as non intercooled 2.5 "Hi-Torque" motors . This unit had a bigger turbine housing with a 2 1/2" outlet. The worset would be the Mitsubishi turbo out of a 87-88 Inter-cooled turbo car, this was also used in some 87-92 non intercooled cars. Even in the 2.2 /2.5 engine the mitsubishi turbo is restrictive and will not provide much more than 18psi boost. The early turbo cars had Garrett's with a small turbine housing and 90 VNT cars have a variable nozzle turbo (ie; no waste gate).

The big outlet garrett unit will support 300+ HP and will get a 3000lbs Daytona into the 12's or a 2400 lbs Omni into the 11's. All of the garrett turbos are T03's.

I have run a best of 15.2 in my basically stock 89 Dyatona Shelby and with a little fine tuning similar cars are running high' 14's. This is at 14psi boost. Bumping the boost to 18psi gets these cars into the 13's.

what about two 1.8 turbos? Run the slant with the offy dual carb intake , two dutra exhausts, and two one.eights, like off an import (colt turbo for you purests) You could run the slant liek two individual balanced motors front 3 and rear 3. Good power pulses for the blower, Less lag, less airflow per turbo, more booste, more buted cranks = GOOD TIMES!!!!:

We need to get madmax hooked-up with Andrew!
