I would definitely pull out to Kearney. Mike Jeffrey would be a good one to get on board as this is his home track. He also used to be on the board of directors at the track.

I am betting that if we would be putting up our own prize money KRPI would work with us on scheduling too.

They are open a lot of Saturdays for T&T, and we could probably slide in to one of those.

They have Jackpot races on Saturday and points races on Sunday. We could do the Slant race on Saturday and those who would want to stay over can run Sunday and help Mike out in points.

Glad to hear there is "local" midwest interest. I need to call Mike.

I'm hoping we can get some folks from either end of this dern big country to come too...

So are we thinking of our own "gambler" race during a test n tune weekend as kind of a "side show" (freak show to the big block guys  )?

That would be the easiest to talk a track into. Put up $40 or $50 each and disperse it to the top of the field.

The folks at Kearney are well aware of the Slant sickness. They've seen Mike run 10.0's out there. They've also seen him put a lot of good race cars on the trailer in S/Pro. :D

I've even had my junk out there a few times.

That's about a 3000 mile round trip from Salem, but I'll be willing to go depending when in the year it is and financial standing at that point. Heck, I'll drive about anywhere to race assuming I can afford it.

For some reason when I mapped it I didn't pay attention to the miles  It said 7 1/2 hours though, sure... Those google/yahoo maps are always +/- an hour it seems! :x

Stephanie,

Was anyone discussing this possibility at the Redding race??

Wayne said maybe 5-8 West cars and I'm sure we can get 4-6 Midwest cars and 5-8 East cars - would be fun!

Lou

Heh, I'm not sure, actually... my mind's been almost exclusively on dealing with gremlins springing from my car. :? I do think I remember it being mentioned at the team meeting Sunday though.
That would be a lot of fun, I don't know how many people from up here in the Northwest would make it because of the distance - usually Vegas is a stretch and this is much farther than that - but I know I'll for sure try. I love good road trips, haven't been to the midwest in a few years.

I may be able to pull this off if i have enuff time to save for it. I drive my car so that adds to the risk factor. Would be alot of fun to run with the other racers from that side of the states!

Linda and I are thinking about it. We have some friends to visit back in the midwest and could combine the trip. :D

As soon as a date is nailed down, I can answer for certain.

OK, glad to hear people are considering this. Might not have a date until Jan, but will try to get some options from Mike sometime soon.
