UPDATE: Elaine and I are scheming to have a big breakfast at the main lodge on Sat morning 1/24, then cook for the banquet in the afternoon - eat around 2 or 3. Gary and Barbara Bruner visited the lodges in Gatlinburg and said they will send me a map to the exact lodge location and not just the main office. I will post this for everyone to see. Christine and I will get there around 3:30 PM on 1/23 to check in, since the earliest we can occupy is 4 PM. Whoever is there Friday eve, we can go out for dinner together. Sunday breakfast we'll probably hit the ol' LOG CABIN for pancakes. Can't wait! Lou |

| Post subject: | NO pets in lodges for banquet |
Update: Elaine pointed out that some folks may want to bring pets to the banquet. ALPINE LODGES DOES NOT ALLOW PETS. Please tell your friends if you know anyone likely to want to bring one. I think several of the people with pets know this, but I'm posting this just in case. Also, we have Sam and Jody Daugherty and family coming too! I have also rented another small lodge around the corner (#56) to make sure we have enough beds. We have over 40 coming now including kids! Thanks, Lou |

Gary Bruner graciously got a street address and directions to the lodges. The main lodge is: 336 Pinnacle Dr. Gatlinburg, TN 37738 and the other lodge is 334 Pinnacle Dr. Please come to the main lodge first and we can set you up with a room in one of the lodges. You can get directions using mapquest.com or googlemaps.com, OR... Directions: From TN going east on I40: 1) Get onto US 321/441 going south from Sevierville. Best to get off I40 at TN 66 south to Sevierville, then pick up 441 and then join 321. 2) Take a left onto the East Parkway (US 321) going east away from Gatlinburg. 3) Left on W. Ogle Dr. at the Little House of Pancakes and Lecante Furniture. 4) Follow W. Ogle left at the fork 5) Go right at the T intersection (might be Ogle, but not clear from map), then onto Pinnacle Dr and find #336. From NC going west on I40: 1) Get on the East Parkway (US 321) going west going toward Gatlinburg - best to take exit 443 off I40 onto the Foothills Pkwy, then join 321 west. 2) As you start coming into Gatlinburg, you will pass a Food City on your right. 3) Right on W. Ogle Dr. about 1/4 mile past the Food City 4) Follow W. Ogle left at the fork 5) Go right at the T intersection (might be Ogle, but not clear from map), then onto Pinnacle Dr and find #336. 3rd update for the day... There are hot tubs in all 3 of the lodges we'll have for the banquet. Everyone should bring swim suits! Also, pool tables, game rooms, big movie screen... We have 41 people signed up and a few others considering coming! Lou |

Rob We had the same type of news, California wont let us take the children out of state without a court order. Pisser is we told them of this trip 2 months ago. Oh we didnt want to push things with the judge???? GRRRRRR Frank |

I won't be able to make it this year. My winter car isn't up to the trip and I can't convince anyone else to make the trip. I will miis being there but I hope everybody has a great time and comes away with with enthusiasm for the coming year. Seymour |
