I had an old '72 Chev half/ton with a six that used to ice up. I checked this Dodge--no icing on this cake. And icing is usually an issue after running for a while--it takes quite a bit of ice to make them stall. I have all the stock equipment for warming the intake air still intact. There's a few rust holes in the sheet metal stove, but it's mostly all there. Can someone tell me what the ignition module for this truck looks like? And where is it under the hood? I'm more of a Chevy guy

I think that truck has the lean burn setup. If so, the ign module is inside the computer. Does the distributer have a vacumm advance can on the side of it, or not?

Hey Bud, I had the same problem with my 87 ram PU. Turned out to be a stuck float. I ultimately replaced the carb (got a good deal on a new one). Also, check the three screws on the bottom of the carb (careful not to turn the carb upside down) sometimes they work themselves loose causing the carb to suck too much air. |
