The beast has woken from hibernation. I finally drove Dart out of the garage and washed the dust away. Still working fine.

The mandatory winter tire season has ended here. That means cruising with Slant again. Only wheel angle and suspension adjustments and we're ready to go.

I took some pictures. It's still snowing lightly but roads are dry.

It's only a week to the American Car Show -exhibition, which is considered as one of the main events of car enthusiasts in the Country. If everything is going well and the car doesn't break down before that, it will be our next road trip destination.

Post subject:  Terrvetullut Finlandia !

 I spent three and a half years in Michigan's Upper Penninsula. My neighbors were as quick with the Finnish as they were with English. Mine is VERY rusty after thirty years. If you need anything for your 67 this is a good place to find it.

Another overseas F-body this time!

I just bought Dodge Aspen 1976 4d sedan with 225 + 904. I drove 400 km (250 miles) from the place I bought it week ago.

This is a special edition (or custom) with side mouldings and factory A/C (removed). It was shipped to Finland from Atlanta, GA when the Finnish 1st owner moved back here after working in the States. Odometer reading is about 220,000 miles. It certainly has the speedometer with miles, unlike same models sold here as new.

The engine is 225 Slant Six, of course. With Holley 1945 one barrel. The engine works very well. Here some old people call it "miljoonamoottori" (The million mile engine).

This car is some kind of survivor. I found almost everything looks untouched except the A/C and the paint, which looks like $#!+ (literally). Luckily only the outer sheet metals are painted, so I dream of a new paint job with an original metallic red color. Original decals are mostly in place.

This model is also very underrated here, but I think it's reliable and comfortable, just like an American car should be. I fell in love for the first sight. My first 70s car.

Here they are together.

Wow! Nice cars, both the Dart and the Aspen.
Wilkommen! I know, that's German, not Finnish. Anyway, this is a friendly, helpful place, as you've probably found out by now.

Thanks for your feedback!

Dart has worked incredibly well after larger maintenance in winter. I have driven almost 7,000 km (4,500 miles) since March. It's my daily driver and the only functioning car.

Had to do some minor repairs to Aspen this week.

Started overhauling intake/exhaust manifolds. Fixing some leaks and they are going to be painted with original color. I had to change the whole exhaust manifold into a better unit. It means fighting with warped manifolds again.

Another problem was the rear wheel bearing, which was cracked and made very terrible noise. I have to change the bearing or find another used driveshaft.

I also teared down the dashboard to fix all electrical problems inside. The strange thing is that the wiring harness is almost original, without bigger modifications. No burnt connectors either...
