I just rolled in, about 10:00am this morning (monday). On the way home, I passed Paradise Dragway in Georgia, and remembered they race on Sunday. So, guess what I did?

PS: my 66 Valiant ran fine on motor, and my 335,000 toyota truck did a 1,800 mile pull with no problems and 19 mpg :P

Rick, I do not have an exact count count - I think Lou knows for sure as he had the ladder drawn up.

Here are some pics and Video of the final rounds.

Thanks for the photos. I never pictured that track as 1/8 a mile. Then I looking up drag strips in GA. And holy smoke, most are 1/8 mile. In CA, they are mostly 1/4 mile. So the south is a little different. It made me wonder - do you guys setup of 1/8 mile? If so, I can't imagine too many people driving to the track. And I looked at my slip from the Redding track. I hit only about 59mph at 1/8 track, versus 74 mph at quarter mile. I think I prefer the extra 1/8 mile.

So basically, how is your setup, and what kind of times are you doing? I'll be moving to Douglasville GA next month, so that is why am so interested in the track.

Holy smokes! I've actually been to that track, back in the early 80s. Went with my girlfriend at the time when we were visiting the Smoky Mountains. I'm pretty sure it was 1/4 mile back then, and we sat in those concrete bleachers near the traps.

Wish I had been there. Looks like it was a blast, even if it is only 1/8 mile, or as I call it, half a race track.

Probably the only time I'll be in 3rd place! We'll see I guess. Thanks for the points update, Flyin' Brian.

Thanks for the pics/vids, Greg!

I was pretty happy with the weekend, even though I went out both 1st rounds. Car did go 9.31 @ 74.6 MPH, so a bit quicker than the week before. The show and the cookouts were fun too!!

Next race I'll have an automatic car (or truck ) and more practice...

Hopefully we can get a few of the PA and MD racers to venture down to Wilkesboro for some "Mini Thunder Valley" action on July 12.

Cheers,

Lou
