Top Shot systems can goof up the carb metering. The nitrous can spary down the booster and make it go very rich. A plate mounted sideways is probably the easiest way to go without wetting down the left side of the manifold. In fact that's my plan for my Valiant. I divided the plenum of a Clifford manifold and run my carb with the primaries to the left (away from the engine). The new engine is about 10.2:1 and will use a progressive controller to ramp up the N2O in proportion to the engine speed. I'll let you know how it works out.

Ryan, yes, avoid a Top Shot. All you need is a simple plate system. I have been the fastest with my old Top Gun system, and I think they are out of business. NOS or NX will do fine. I think you'll find that the biggest difference between a cheap kit and a good kit will be the quality of the solenoids. My Top Gun kit had small solenoids and I did have 1 nitrous solenoid that failed. Most all the kits will come with the dead-man switch. MSD sells window switches.

My plate is a single bar, and it does not seem to run any cylinders lean/rich.

Good Luck Ryan. I'll be watching this thread.

Josh, it sounds like you will have a good setup with nearly perfect cylinder distribution. Let me know how it all turns out. I guess I will start looking for a good plate system, and hopefully start to learn about nitrous a little more. I really appreciate all of the input from everyone, and advice. I am hoping to get the car running solid mid 14's on the engine (currently 14.8 ). And then spray it to cut about 1.5 seconds off to run high 12's. I think that might be a high goal considering my setup, but it should be fun trying to reach it, and hopefully (if I start with small amounts of nitrous) I will still be able to keep the engine reliable enough to drive daily. Thanks again everyone. I'll let you know when I get started.

Ryan
