I am leaning towards the smaller cam and low 2400 stall converter, but like everything this is subject to change. Now the tranny I was planning on using has the lock up converter in it. Does this throw another wrench into the mix? I have a slight understanding of the electronic lock up converters but the hydralic lock up is new to me. I think the big cam would be of better use to me when I rebuild my stock motor now that I am a proud owner of a Offy 4 bbl. manifold. I might have also found a 318 dart that should have a heavier posi rear end in it. Thanks Again Mike

It is hard to buy a lockup converter that will stall above about 2200 RPM on a Slant, so that may limit cam choice somewhat. You can get any stall you want from a non-lockup converter, which is the way to go if you don't care much about mileage in favor of acceleration.

Excuse the dumb question but can I use the regular converter in place of the lock up? Or does that tranny have to have a lock up converter to function right? Thanks Mike

The converters have to be used with the correct tranny. Lock up conv with lock up tranny, and non lock up conv with non lock up tranny.

Well for now I ordered a RV15 RDP. I figure I will get more radical on the next build. I just bought a 73 Dart 4 door to play with so that gives me a non lock up tranny to build if I decide to part it. I want to say thank you for all the help. Mike
