I knew I'd seen this in a magazine in the past year or so, and I finally located the issue. The October 2008 Mopar Action has an article on a '64 Valiant with a supercharged slant 6 (225 cu. in.). He used a Pro-Charger unit, at 5 psi, blowing thru a Demon 650 carb to produce 202 hp at the rear wheels. In addition to the blower, he did a lot of porting work on the head, put large valves in it, used a Clifford cam, headers and intake manifold, and MSD ignition. Unfortunately, it's not an article on how to supercharge, so that's about all the details it gives. Roger |

Not very good results for the expense of the Procharger. They would have gotten the same results without the Procharger. |

Thats where the basics this board teaches should go a long way to making a build work. There are several Procharger builds that just dont measure up. Not the Prochargers fault. Frank |

Well, the article did say he was limiting boost to 5 psi for now. I think he plans to crank it up a bit later. But, yes, that's a lot of money for not that much gain. Aren't those kits like around $5k or so? |

The kit is pricy. I purchased mine from the supercharger store and it was a little over $5k. I have it installed in a duster. As people have posted here before, the kit is expensive and there are cheaper ways to boost your slant, but I'm extremely happy with their product and customer service. I would also look at the PPR blower intake for the M-90 supercharger as said previously. I think hood clearance will a problem not sure though. Also you posted that procharged valiant was 202hp at 5lbs. I agree with kesteb about the results. I had my car on a chassis dyno a little over a year ago. At 8lbs boost I made 308hp to the wheels. |
