I use an AC Delco (it was on the car when I bought it) FV 167 or something like that. Fram makes an FV 167 with a metal base and plastic elbow. No wistle like the plastic ones. |

Dave, Yes, JB Weld is great for that use. What kind of vacuum are you seeing now? The Spectre cap with built in PCV I am using is similar to the GM all metal PCV. No noise or anything to wear out especially when using synthetic oil. |

Well,I am enlarging the hole a little bit at a time right now , if I give the gas a good punch ,it pulls some vacuum. Sometimes when I slowly raise the RPMs it does nothing until 2700 RPM.When I get vacuum, it does not stay at that pressure ,it will drop.(If I get it up to 5" or 10",it will stay there a second and then drop.)It is better than yesterday ,so I will enlarge the hole a little more ,and then test it again.(don't worry I am not going crazy with the drill bit) Ted, do you know the part # for your PCV valve grommet? Thanks Dave |

Well, I decided to go ahead and try it once more, and now at 2000 Rpm I get a steady 8" of vacuum. I think that is good ,because I tested the purge canister valve and it opens up at around 5" of vacuum. If I have time tommorrow I am going to hook up both ported vacuum ports on two seperate gauges and see how they look. Hopefully it will be successful Dave |

Dave, Most excellent work! Glad you gave it a try and weren't afraid to follow through. It should work just as well as mine. |
