They used BOTH an 8-1/4 (just like what we are all used to) OR teh Dana 35 in Cherokees; but again you need 97-older to get the correct splines. I dont believe they ever used an 8-1/4 as a front diff; so that one is moot; but if so as already was mentioned, if they had the gears would be reverse cut. |

Before taking apart yard rear (at home) measure backlash. It should help you with setup to get the used gears to run quite. |
