Gents,

To summarize, the key benefit with the RemFlex is don't need to over tighten the nuts like you need to do with the Aussie or a FelPro and you get a great seal. Even if the surfaces are not perfect which is the case with our SL6 intake and exhaust manifolds after a few heat cycles......

Anybody know why the Remflex site show the application as 60-83?

Is there a reason it wouldn't work on an 87?

Joe,

The motor is fine, but manifolds have a mind of their own......

C'mon, Ted, now I'm asking you again — this time in public since the private discussion doesn't seem to have taken hold: please try to keep your advice grounded in reality instead of fairy tales. The nuts are not "overtightened" with a stock-type or Australian gasket…they just aren't, and saying they are doesn't help anybody.

The Remflex gasket is a good piece. We all know you like it a lot. But the cheerleading you're doing is getting out of hand when it stops being based on reality. Please turn it down a few notches, thanks.

There is no demonstrated benefit to the Remflex vs. the Australian gasket; either is a much better pick than a stock-type gasket (Mopar, Fel-Pro, Victor, etc.). All slant-6 engines from '60 to '87 use the same gaskets.
