Nothing I can really put my finger on. After it acted up that last time and I took it apart and blasted all the orifices and openings with carb cleaner, it has run just fine, once warmed up. The only remaining issue is with the initial start up when cold.

With a one-press-of-the-accelerator-to-set-the-choke-and-give-it-a-pump-shot routine, it pops off, but won't stay running. With a second shot it will get started and chugging, but a slight press of the accelerator to up the rpms will keep it running until warmed up. Then it runs fine.

I drove it for about two weeks to troubleshoot, then Aaron came home for Thanksgiving and took it back to college. He hasn't had any problems other than what I described. I think it's going to be a matter of tweaking the choke and idle setting, and just get used to it's behavior.
