I'll have a bunch more pictures to post over the next few weeks. My next book is going to cover Mopar suspension and brake stuff as well as some related details. So I have a ton of parts showing up that I need to shoot photos of.

Here is the big dog kit! 15 inch rotors and giant mono-block billet calipers from Baer. This kit costs $3600 for the fronts only. You'll also need 19 inch rims to clear these rotors.

Uh, I have to ask, what on Earth are you doing with your A-body that would require such massive brakes?

Andy might not do anything with his B Body that requires these brakes.

He is likely, however, to be doing something with his business that requires these brakes on his B Body.

Potential clients always want to know if you have tried this or that. Its good business to be able to say yes......and back it up with pictures. It allows you to have instructions or additional parts available.

OK, just wondering. I honestly can't even see the need for these on a B body, unless you are the kind of person who buys a Hummer just because.

Andy has presented us a line of brakes.....from the "You Really Do Need This" series to the "Bling Just Because" series.

The larger rotors needs a bigger wheel (19") but bigger wheels make normal rotors look dinky.

I have 14" Ansen Sprints on my car that just fit over my Explorer rear discs . A set of 17" Ansen Sprints would make the same rotor look wimpy.

Its a matter of balanced look.

Dude with 24" wheels on rusty 9" drums ........

I would not want to be assigned the job of making those Big Dog brakes stop nicely at low speeds.........

The 15 inch kits are probably more likely to be used on a slammed SUV running 20 inch rims than on a car. The Extreme Baer kits are designed for a 13.5 inch rotor. Once a basic design is done it is easy to just add a spacer under the caliper and then fit a larger rotor. That lets the mfg have a full line of brake kits without having to re-engineer anything or carry additional inventory.

The bracket kit in the picture is designed for a 13.5 rotor but it has a .750 spacer under the caliper which turns it into a 15 inch kit. Simple and easy upgrade. I'd think most serious road racers would be running 18 inch wheels and tires these days. 17's are a little small and 19's are a little too big and heavy. The 13.5 rotor and even a 14 inch rotor will fit in an 18 inch rim just fine.

I'll post pictures of the 13 inch and 14 inch kits when I get a chance. I'm in the process of bolting them all on my car one by one and snapping pictures.

I agree those 15" rotors are a bit over the top for most apps. But I can say from personal experience that lots of stopping power is just about as fun as lots of horsepower.

Here is the 6S caliper mounting on a more reasonable 13 x 1.250 rotor and fitted with a 17x8 rim. This is a combination that would fit on most A/B/E body cars without too much work.

The man has a way with fabrication, and eye candy...

Rims are custom build Fikse three piece. Fikse makes killer rims but they are a little on the expensive side.
