That's what I was thinking, but they both say that I really need to take a look and make some decisions before they are willing to put that serious race engine in it.Lou I'm sure we'll work out something that will work. I've been wanting to make a trip down there for years anyway. ![]() I've been looking into some other alternatives to "get me by for now" while we continue to fiddle with the Duster. ![]() |

Fair enough. They are just looking out for what is practical and not a money pit or dangerous. If you have not visited there, you are in for a treat. They WILL sell you some parts... and maybe a car... and... ![]() ![]() ![]() Lou |

I'll be sure and leave my credit cards at home and only bring enough cash to get me there and back,... Nah! What would be the fun in that!? ![]() I'm trying to schedule a trip soon. |

Well, it's only been a little over a month. I guess it's time to head on down to Maynardville, TN. ![]() I'm really hoping it's not all that bad. I'm over-extended as it is. ![]() I should start a poll: Which way will Rob go THIS time? A. Have the Bruner Clan fix it and continue as planned. B. Change the thread title from "GodsRods Duster" to "GodsRods Dart". ![]() C. Tow the thing home and try to fix it himself (likely NEVER to get finished). D. Finally come to his senses and realize that he's just not cut out for this car stuff and take up underwater basket weaving instead. |

I like the way you guys think and I'm with you! The problem will come once I get down there without any back up and Meril starts pourin' honey in my ears... ![]() ![]() Either way I'm really looking forward to finally making a trip down there. |

I went with option A! ![]() ![]() ![]() Lukus is helping me out and Meril is offering advice. ![]() This was the best weekend I've had since I got back! As far as "car stuff" goes it's the best I've had in a very, very long time! Removing the roll cage was easy (too easy! ![]() The rust issues aren't as scary as I thought. Some floor board and a section of the trunk that should come out anyway. We almost started to mini tub it and move the springs in, but I decided to hold off on that for now. I want to focus on getting this thing back on track first. Big thanks to Lukus and Meril for letting me jump in there and start making some real progress for a change! (I even have a blister! ![]() ![]() ![]() Gary walked me by the engine and said, "That's your engine over there"... ![]() So, GodsRods Duster II is still a go! ![]() ![]() ![]() (I should have taken some pictures, but I was so excited about getting dirty that I forgot until I was driving home. ![]() |

Well, I'm sure it will be none too impressive at first. I'm sure my lights will be all over the place for awhile. Lou ![]() It would be great if it was back together and I could tow that thing back up here on the way back from the banquet in February! ![]() That would give me some time to get it track ready and get some seat time at Ohio Valley and US 60 before I debut it at a Slant 6 race. |
