A turbo that's suited for a 1.6L Honda is very likely to be a poor match for a 3.7L slant six.

If I understand how this works, you will get boost too quickly, and then not enough boost as RPM's rise at WOT with a turbo that is too small.

For the record Joshua, I did put in the check valve and hooked up the vacuum line on the back side of the waste gate control, and it worked like a charm. Now is the time to get one of the simple boost controls that Dan suggested, and start playing with increasing boost levels.

If it's these guys:

http://trsmotorsport.com/

They are a Precision Turbo dealer. It is possible some other outfit may have a similar name.

Not many turbos that I'd recommend for both a Civic and a slant six - do you have any details, part numbers, etc?

T3/T4 hybrids were built to spool up quickly on small engines that can make a lot of high RPM power which is supported by the larger T4 compressor. Yes, the can be made to work on a larger engine, but a .63 A/R turbine is much too small for a 225 and will create a lot of back pressure. You'd see high boost numbers, but the exhaust will be very restricted so the mass flow through the engine and the resulting horsepower will also be restricted.

Could very well be one of those cheap Chinese turbo imports. Seen some of them work for 20,000 miles or more, others that were leaking oil after a month. And like Joshua said, it's too small for a slant six.

.63 A/R will work fine on the 225. My car ran 11's with this last year and expect to go faster this year. PTE 6262DBB with .63 a/r

No Problems at all. 600 DP Holley. No driveability issues at all.

Last I checked. 19mpg including 3 passes at the track.

Isn't your exhaust turbine a T4 though?

Not sure. This turbo is a direct bolt in Buick GN turbo. It has a 3 bolt flange that has a 2.25" round inlet diameter. The Cold side exhaust uses a standard Buick flange (custom 3.5" downpipe in my case) with an internal wastegate.

Tom, What boost are you running? Also, what compression ratio?
