It can take a lot of effort to remove it sometimes. There is no bolt in the end of the crank? Most of the time they do not have a bolt. If it does, remove the bolt first. I've had to rattle stuck ones off with air a couple of times. CJ |

Have you lubricated the threads on the jacking screw? That looks like a well used tool. Are the threads in good shape? What is happening when you crank it in? Is the foot on the end of the jacking screw entering the bolt hole? Have you a pic of the other end of the jacking screw, and the end of the crank? While there are many ways to reinstall the balancer, the "Best" way is with another tool called a Harmonic Blancer Installation Tool. Go figure.  CJ |

we did not lubircate the tool, and the tool is in good shape, but wen my dad turns it, once it gets rough, the crank will just turn over. i can get u pics first thing tomorrow morning. so is that how its suppose to be place? nothin else needs to b 2 removed? |

By Rattle, I mean, use an air impact wrench. It's rough on the tool, but put your 1/2" impact to work on the jacking screw. I generally use air tools for pulling the balancer if it gives me any grief. Lubricate the threads on the tool's jacking screw before you start. CJ |

Not threaded in (smaller diameter then the threads) just something for the tool to push against, You don't want to mess up the threads in the crank, or you will have trouble reinstalling the balancer, As Ceej said, use an impact gun on the tool "jackbolt", or since the engine is out, put a bar between the flexplate mounting bolts on the other end of the crank, to keep the crank from turning. |

When you have a bind on the jack bolt pop the end of it with a hammer. The shock sometimes will pop it loose. |

man,,,by now,,I'll just make a short drive to the local gas station and grab the mechanic to come and help you at his lunch time,,that's all you need, he will charge you probably $ 5.00 bucks to properly operate the armonic balancer remover...and Onestly,,I won't use a impact wrench on this tool. good luck. |
