I 94----> I 90.......then 212 is not a shortcut. (You will miss Crow Agency and Custer Battlefield)

Since when is Rush sounding like Che wrong? ....it sounds like a huge improvement. I wonder what your raido might do for Fox News........

NPR can be heard in most of America......but on I 94 you can get CBC news fairly clearly. ......although it might sound like Fox News with your invertor.......

There will be snow in the Rockies by this weekend..........

I don't recall saying anything of the like!

Good question. I was curious about that myself, so I tried it: Silence. I guess that makes sense; it's the opposite of random noise.

I've got very good tires.

Actually, it was originally built in Windsor, but originally purchased in Kentucky, which is where the previous wiring, ah, um, uh...sorry, I don't know how you say in English. "Repair" is not the right word for no fewer than five crude splices in the main charging line, two of which were twisted together with wire nuts and the other three of which were gobbed with a wad of electrical tape. Not counting the drywall screw used to secure (ahem) the end of the wire, minus fuselink, into what was left of the corner slot of the centre bank of firewall connectors.

Well I figured with the anniversary (congrats!), the SAE stuff, and finding an exhaust shop that you wouldn't have much time for a meet up.
There's house repair, grandpa's ashes to take up to Snoqualmie Pass, and a lot of other stuff to do, too, but I'm in town til end October.

Kentucky, hummm.

This is the buggy you picked up near your Gramps place, ain’t it? Or, am I all wet from the import, export, import component of your story?

If it is the Washington statemobel it would be interesting to know who it hauled out west, and for what reason; job, runaway bride, military transfer, hippies trying to find themselves... This is kind of like genealogy, discovering the story of a migration.

Such Rubbish Department:
I don't know how you say in English. "Repair"
I think the English would refer to it as “Mendingâ€￾, a word I always associate with repairing cloth, not machinery and such. But, than the English have always had a problem with the language…LOL… boots, bonnets, shooting brake, lorry, torch, saloon cars, and the like. Well that is what this early New England Colonist family member thinks anyway.

Egg on Face Department:

However, “Webster’s New World College Dictionaryâ€￾, offices in Cleveland, OH of all places, contradicts my parochial approach to the English language regarding; “Mendingâ€￾. Indeed it is a general term, meaning; general repair of most anything, particularly worn machinery…

Note to self: Utilize the word, “Mendingâ€￾, in a more diverse way… Hey now maybe I’ll sound more like Jeremy Clarkson, once called Menderella for his natural automotive repair abilities…LOL

May the parts stores be handy if needed,
Bill

Naw, that was Dart III, the white '64. I sold it this past June; it had two cylinders too many and half of those were on the wrong side of the engine bay. I'm drivin' Dart IV, the "dark gold poly" (I call it brown) '73 I bought near Detroit last year. Previous-owner pics (before my repairs and improvements) are here.

The French word for "station wagon" is "break", spelt that way. I think it's something to do with French truth-in-advertising laws or something.

Dang, that is a sharp dart! I have always liked that particular Mopar color, especially with the black vinyl top. The only thing that would make that car better would be a black interior. It even has A/C!

Sooner than later, the car's going to want pipe(s) and a muffler. Anyone got a recommendation for who does nice pipework in the Seattle area?
The best quality work done in our area is:

Stan's Headers & Mufflers

4715 Auburn Way
Auburn WA 98002

253-854-5310

They do a lot of custom header work for Chip Foose and our local clubs and have a huge inventory thick wall pipe, fittings and mufflers.

Y'hafta come see it in person. You remember where is the house, right?

Gargh. I cannot stand black interiors. The only thing that would make it better is if it were the same color combo as my grandpa Kosh's last car, a '72 Dart Custom, butter yellow outside and froggy green inside.

I like your new ride. There is one just like it that sits up the street and never moves, near as I can tell. It has tags on it.

Are you moving back to the US? I missed that part.

I wanna go too. You should re-plan and dip through Texas, and pick up some followers. Convoy anyone???

Nope. Spending some time in Seattle, leaving the '73 parked there 'cause I sold the '64 formerly parked there.

And now I gotta GO!

Post subject:  The Muffler Shoppe in white Center (South West Seattle)

As mentioned above, I've had just stock exhaust work done by The Muffler Shoppe in White Center, and was satisfied with the work. The guy isn't really into Darts that I noticed, but is focused on doing exhausts well, so I think he might be OK for you. He is not cheap, but I've always been satisfied with the quality of his work. We have taken 3 or 4 jobs to him, all /6 stock, and will probably take the next one there also. Be sure to show him what you want done. Call him, tell him his name came up on the "international" Slant Six Forum from some happy customers, and maybe you will get VIP treatment? (That means he'll give you directions to browse the best hardware store in Seattle, just a block away (McLendon's) (OBTW, he is into flying airplanes.) Ph. (206) 762-1939, 10009 16th Ave S.W. Seattle Have a great ROOOOAD TRIP! Pat

Dave (at The Muffler Shoppe) did a great job on my 5th Avenue, putting a 2.5" pipe from the Y pipe back to the muffler, then 2.25" to the bumper. Nothing hits, looks great. He takes his time and does it right. He always gave me the "handshake" job with no warrenty, but if I ever had a leak at a weld he fixed it for free. He used to have a helper there that was a car guy that was into Fords...kid had a nice '67 or 8 Mustang and a cool '61 Falcon with I think a 351 stuffed into it. Looked cool with the white/primer body and 14" red steel rims on it.
