Sun-pro gage is the one I have seen on shelves of local parts stores. Lists for around 30 bucks give or take a few bucks if I remember correctly. Well anyway, what ever the cheap gage is, it utilizes three colors indicating: rich; good; and lean.

I will make up a wire harness that will serve the in cabin gage, and provide a tap under hood for a digital VOM to assist adjusting idle screws. Hopefully I’m close to ideal all ready, and this will be just a wiring & welding project. LOL

prosportgauges.com has a wide band gauge for the dash that comes with a Bosch 5 wire (!) sensor and bung all for about ~220$ (think fast and furious crowd) supposedly takes the widest and most accurate readings out there (according to add), good price I think. Only downfall might be the "look" of the gauge.

Lets see: 14 bucks for sensor, 30 greenbacks for a gage, all ready have wire & connectors for harness & several digital VOMs…. To 220 bucks?

Nah. LOL

I’ll put the dollar difference into a new steering gear. This is an ancient Holley carburetor sitting on top of a sixty year old engine design, not the latest million times a second self adjusting multi-port direct injection system.

I’m just trying to get close to a trade-off between performance, and highway economy, something that has been elusive since getting this car.

At some point a new cam shaft, and carburetor will be installed, but not this year. Too much spent on new brakes this winter, an unplanned expense. One has to be able to stop, before he can go…LOL

I’m looking forward to futzing around with this new gismo.
