We have an unrusted 80 Pontiac 1000 here in the yard. My son traded it for 2 cords of birch when he was 16. It had been used by some rural teens as their Busstop car for several years. They lived a mile and a half from the schoolbus stop up a very rural road. This was the car they had been given to get to and from the stop. It went off the road on quite a few occasions over the years but never saw any salt. Nobody wants it. We have a perfectly good 78 Fury 4 door in the same category.......as well as an 88 Dakota. Perfectly good cars nobody wants.......... |

Quote: I can't believe you can still find a Chevette that isn't rusted to the ground. I used to see a lot of them back in the '80's that had well over 100K on them and were still good mechanically, but the bodies were just eaten up.
Just Save your drain oil and Put it in a rustproofing gun and Spray the hell outta the underneath - Resists salt and water fairly well. Greg |
