Yeah. That's it! I'll convert the AFB from a 500 to a 600 and take it for a spin. That should help. :D
Thanks 'Zilla! I'm getting tunnel vision on this thing.

I think your right Lou. I advanced the cam to get it to 102-103ish°
I have a bigger bushing.

Today I'm going out to pull some un-needed weight out of the car. Stuff like the Mopar ignition parts, and so forth. Transfering the OEM ignition to Linda's '63 GT.
I may put a bit of weight back into the rear of the car.

Lots of fun!

Too wet to fire the forge up. With all the shavings and aluminum scrap I've been building up, I need to make a pour pretty soon. I've got some ideas for a trinket or two.

If it's falling down over 5K, look at too much timing, valve springs, or too little fuel volume. Even with a crap AFB on it it should wind 6500 easy.

Holley Red pump, 3/8" all the way to the bowls. Probably not fuel.

All in, maybe 28° advance. Drop that to 26°. Keep the 14° base.

Could go back on the Holley 600. Shoot somewhere in the middle for jetting. Just too many elevation changes to make that fun with our circuit. It ranges from five feet to perhaps 2500'. Not that bad, but the Holley tends to need a nurse maid as altitude and temperature change. Not as bad as it would be with a Hyperpak manifold. I'll stick with the short runner Offy.

I'll try it with the AFB converted back to 600 cfm so I don't have to baby-sit the Holley.

Got some weight out of the front end. Still looking for my old set of shocks. They need the oil dumped out of them still. Been saving them for that for a couple of years. Just don't know where I put them now.
The story of my shop.

Knocked an engine stand over today, came within a couple inches of hitting the Alfa. I either need to sell that car, or stop fooling with slant sixes and get back to sporty cars. I about had a coronary.

Lots of things will make a 225 not rev high. 32 deg is too much, yep. 30 max, and more like 26-28 is my experience. Restrictive exhaust or induction, or mixture at high RPM and load, or....
