Yep. It seems to be working fine. The part throttle kickdown arrived after we had buttoned it back up (D'OH!), but I will probably pull the valve body tomorrow and install the kickdown assembly.

Lesson learned- DON'T RUSH YOUR WORK. You make dumb mistakes like I did and end up having to do it over again.

And, in case someone in the future finds this thread, it is not possible to remove the rear band without disassembling the whole transmission. It IS possible to rotate it enough to check if it is broken.
