Welp, the verdict is in, catastrophic bearing failure was indeed the cause of my lower end noise. Most likely due to driving it for a few months with a crazy high idle problem. ill post up a pic shortly.

heres whats left of one of the connecting rod bearings, i havent started taking the rest apart yet, so who knows how bad the rest will be.

jsut un some 90 wt and you be good to go .....just kidding, but did have a friend that ran his amc many many miles with 90 wt and knocking bad

definitely negative on the 90 wt. Im going to finish taking it apart today and see what needs done.
