The Maple Grove event in June was just a fun run for us. But after looking at the schedule it appears that you have to run 2 days. I can't make it on Sunday so that would probably be out for me.

Obviously I can do the arrangements for a second Mason Dixon race in the fall. That would probably make Mason Dixon the first and last race on the East Coast.

But if someone really wants another venue, they need to step up , make the contacts and see if they can get some details.

If there are folks up North from here that want a race in their backyard that is great also, if they can get some people out. But someone has to step up and do the legwork.

I will contact Mason Dixon and let them know that we are a go for the May events. and I'd like to let them know in a month or so if we are planning to come back in the fall.

Rick

A second Mason Dixon race sounds good.

Rick this is Great! I propose that if we do think about a Fall Race (which I may or may not be able to make :-( )

That we discuss this when everyone is at M-D Possibly in May in addition to the forum.. Much like we did 2 years ago when We gon rained on for 3 days..

Good idea to discuss at M-D, but I may have to clear this with the Western and other Eastern racers if we can decide to add a race on the fly. Changing race schedules will affect some people's plans through the year. At this point, I am getting nervous about adding another race due to our fairly full schedule and limited car counts, but let's keep discussing.

I would especially love to hear from racers further north about a 2nd race and its location.

Lou

on the fly
I don't see this as being on the fly at all. This thread is 2 months old and we did talk about it at the banquet too. No one has stepped up from anywhere in the North to host a race or check into that possibility.

I am not trying to rock the boat, and if you think it is best to leave the schedule as is I will respect that. But I and several others were certainly looking forward to a second race somewhere in the North.

Car counts have been good here, and I think anywhere within 2 or 3 hours of here probably would be good. But honestly I probably will not travel 6-10 hours to go to a race this year. It is just going to cost too much. And, I doubt that we (Covalt Clan) will bring 4 racers to Elk Creek.

Just being honest here. and will I be fine with whatever happens. If we don't schedule a "race" I will probably try and round up 8 or 10 of us local yocals and do our own thing!

you could get race deposits $25 ? non refundable..to cover any costs, if some one does not make the race @ least they would contribute.

A local non points race would work for me.

I've been to some bracket nights at this track and its a pretty nice place. Its located in Liecester NY. Track Rentals are available at $600 for up to 10 cars and $60 per additional vehicle. Any interest?

That is over 300 miles for me and I probably will not travel that far this year. But do you know of any other slant 6 cars in the area that would be interested in a race there? Or if you are reading this and are interested please respond. It doesn't hurt to check with the track and ask if they are willing to host a Slant 6 race, and if they would do a payout for us...etc

Information is always good!

Rick

I only know of a couple other slant six owners in my area. I figured Western New York might be a little far for most but it never hurts to put the word out and see. I'd still be down for another event in lower New York, or PA.
