I used to build plate kits for this application. I'm surprised nobody mentioned that fact in this thread since several people on this board are using my plate kits.

Nobody mentions your kits because they are too well built and cool looking to mention without including pictures. How much does the adaptor cost roughly?

Andy, I didn't mention you kit, because, you had previously stated you had sold your last one, and weren't making any more

If anyone bought one of these and isn't going to use it, please e-mail me directly at marc@marcmedina.com if you're interested in selling it.

Thanks,
Marc

We could make another run of these plates if a few people were serious about buying them. I'd probably need deposits from at least 3 people before I'd run them out. I don't know what the final cost would be for the kits but I was selling them for $375 two years ago. The price of aluminum has gone up quite a bit since then so the price would probably be a little over $400.

Andy,
I am impressed by the obvious quality of the kit that you produced so please don't take this wrong? Many of us just have a hard time coming up with $400 for the adapter. There may be a market for those who want to run 4-speed and have a less expensive adapter available. I know Slantzilla and I both have adapters that were made by Mark Goodman to use with our Blow proof Belhousings and 4-speeds. It really just eliminates the blow-proofs block plate and replaces it with a 1/4" aluminum plate with the V-8 pattern and some countersunk bolts. I think the plate was only about $125 if I remember correctly, and Mark was making them one at a time. If someone was set up to make 10-15 they should be easy to make and should cost even less. Just my 2 cents worth.
I don't know if the automatic guys could use them or not? They may still need a spacer on the crank, but maybe not? I'm sure someone else while chime in.

Right, I understand the budget limitations of the slant crowd. That is why I stopped making parts for slant six applications. But there seemed to be some interest in the part and I've gotten a few e-mails over the last couple of months so I posted the info.

I don't really see anyway to make this particular part any cheaper. It needs to be 0.750 thick in order to have the depth to cover the bolt heads that go to the block. A piece of 6061-T6 plate this size costs over $100 and the machining center that makes the part costs $40,000. So it all just adds up.

I think Mark Goodman made those plates as a labor of love. Hard to see that he would make dollar one at that price, and I doubt he would produce them for just anyone asking.

Andy is charging a fair price for a very nicely machined piece.

I agree Lou! Andy's kit is awesome and fairly priced for what you are getting. My only point was that a thinner plate may be less expensive if someone was running a 4-speed with a blow-proof. I also know that Mark probably was doing it as a labor of love. And he probably isn't interested in making a bunch more. But, maybe someone is?? You never know.
