About 10 years ago I got a DIY dyno where you use the weight of the car and estimated aero drag to determine HP and TQ.

It wasn't any where near $880.................

I mainly have used it on my motorcycle.

Results are repeatable.

The absolute numbers may not be correct, but what you are looking for are improvements in the 'curve'.........

I have been wondering if t here was a product like that available.
Does not seem to be any price list on the web site .

Thanks for the heads up.

Do some searching.

Before I bought the road dyno (I think it was about $150) I came across some DIY solutions that used sound files on PCs and math to do the dynos.

Yeh the blipshift looks good ,accurate too

A bit cheaper than this one.

About $3k after doing the $ conversion!
A simple concept ,looks like an optical sensor and a timer counts rpm and calculates acceleration, you put in vehicle weight etc.
I did come across some of the software emsvitil mentioned.
I will read more about those later.
I like the concept of the device above.

perhaps the OP can find some use with one of these suggestions.

A few of us bought G-techs for 'street testing' a while back....the GPS unit would be easier to work with than calibrating the G-tech and finding a level road with no cops around...

Is this it?

Does anybody have one of these?
Does it work ok or junk?

Post subject:  Yep...

I have the older model of the SS before they changed a few things, I think Lou and a couple others had the basic version.

They did OK, for checking changes in performance and practicing for drag races on the back roads.

Our versions used accelerometers, which would give false data if the road wasn't level or had a tilt...

At least it was nice to be able to make some runs before the cops showed up and go home and download them to a computer and look at the graph and data of the run.
