The rubber lines are new. I got a new tank and sending unit/pump and no sealer. I was contemplating it but I'm a poor ex-college student and I heard another story like that and got scared. lol
That sucks about your car. Glad you got it sorted out though.

Funny you mention that, The two life long friends I got have all owned fords. One I went to school with we got so good at the Trans in his 86 Foxbody that we could do it in 30 min.
Now his father, rolled a shell of a 71 Torino sports roof in the garage and we all had our hands in the restoration. (ford torino wiki, the first orange and black with a shaker hood photo) Grant he has a high compression engine and 4 speed but Im secretly going to through an hx-35 in my slant truck to show that he's not as fast as he thinks he is.

K so....I took the carb apart and its missing this "diaphragm spring" referenced in this article:

so.....where do I find one? or maybe have one? or know which one in the fancy holly kit is the one I need? :/

They don't come in any rebuild kit I have ever seen. I had taken apart my carb last year and after pulling the economizer body the spring shot out....and I could never locate it. Probably lit on the k-frame somewhere and fell off when I was driving.

So after doing a lot of research I ended up using the lightest spring from a Holley Secondary vacuum spring kit, HLY-20-13 It is also called the Quick Change Spring kit, for $12.95 from Summit racing. I think I had to slightly bend the outside diameter to slightly reduce the over all diameter a little. Just use needle nose pliers and take your time. It works great! and the pump shot is stronger than ever! Looking down the throat and working the throttle, the pump shot is huge! With the spring back in there where it belongs, it helps the dual action movement of the accelerator pump to where I can break loose the tires again and that is with a sure-grip rear end. It is nice to have the spunk back!
