Also where would I go from here with it? I definitely want an engine that kicks a bit.

You're in boost territory, the 791 and 9:1 SCR the car will be lazy on the street but work OK at 4000rpm...

I'd be asking the machinist to get the deck height to .09 to work well with that cam (10.3:1 SCR)...hopefully he assembled one piston to check the deck height and can uninstall everything and mill it some more....I would not go too much farther on the head (if it warps in the future, you won't have room to take more scrapes off it....)

I want to have him mill off some more also but we are already pretty high on the money as it is and I just don't have more to accommodate him missing the mark. I am hoping with all the work and the 2 barrel upgrade that it will be better then it was and I may revisit down the line another build.

So I got a call from my machinist telling me the engine was done. I was surprised it took all day but I am not surprised now. He milled the head down a bit more and got me to 10.1:1 much closer to my number. One thing he failed to CC the head after the larger valves. So that reduced it a few CC off the top and then he took a bit more to get lower.

What was the final degree the cam was set at? I would have asked him to install it +4 to get the most out of the low end for street and mileage...

The cam will like the 10.1:1 better, hopefully the machinist didn't leave you with 32CC chambers...

With the long weekend, you should be able to install it, and have it broken in by Sunday afternoon....then road miles and shakedown monday!

Thats the plan. Of course there is the money issue. We were WAY WAY over the initial quote. So I am hoping we can work out an answer.
