PERMATEX COPPER SPRAY GASKET: OF COURSE, CLEAN SURFACES HANG HEAD GASKET FROM A WIRE OUTSIDE. SPRAY-COAT GASKET ON BOTH SIDES -- LET DRY 1/2 HOUR BEFORE NEXT APPLICATION. MINE IS 'MUDDY' WHEN I APPLY 50' Lbs - THEN 60..... LAST HEAD APP WAS IN '00, NOW '19......WOW !! -P- 425806520NINE |

Aluminum block Sl6 engines are challenging to seal...All the surfaces have to be completely flat and clean... It sounds like the block deck and head surfaces need re-machining so you can get the proper clamping forces on the head gasket. DD |
