Did you call Effinghams?? (search the parts list for 198 connecting rods) http://omnipages.com:5004/sl6-parts/FMP ... .htm&-view I bet this is were the eBag guy is getting them, recondition units were just over $30.00 each, no core exchange needed. Let us know how many they still have in stock. DD |

| Post subject: | 198 Long Rod build-up. |
My Engine Builder found a set in Olympia. Cost me a tad more, but supports my local guys. They'll be here shortly. Virgil is going to mock-up the motor so we can get clearances right. Does anyone have the dimensions that I will need for prepping the pistons? Any info I can get for my machinist will help. Are there any other clearance issues? This will be with the 0.430" lift cam (Comp Cams) and the KB268's. I was not going to stroke this engine. With this modification, approximately what should we mill off the head for 9.5:1-10:1? Thanks for all your input! CJ |

Some good discussion on a more recent Long Rod build-up. I need to talk to Chuck to see why the parts list is not working, must be problems left over from the last server crash. DD |
