Funny I'm just now getting to reading this as it's time to store the mower and weed whacker for the winter. We have a new station here that sells "pure gas" with no ethanol, mostly for boats (I live next to a large lake). I might get a few gallons to run through the yard equipment before storing them. Stabil has worked in the past, but I might try both, as I really don't feel like cleaning small carburetors again come spring.

Ethanol killed my mower and my chainsaw, and as I changed the fuel filter in my slanted truck today chunks of goo and bits of rubber fell out of the filter. Time to change the hoses in my truck I guess, as they are the original 31 year old hoses and are not ethanol resistant.

Nothing wrong with ethanol, especially if it's aged in an oak barrel. :D
