Engine is now out of car and opened. Oil pump gear still in order. However it is pretty worn for kilometers (miles) it has seen.

Will take pistons and crank off and clean the block as there is cast iron pieces everywhere.

I also will try add extra feed for this gear as Doug has recommended.

For conversation "a six bolt oil pump" is required.

Is those pumps available somewhere

Parts seen at rockauto look all the same 5 bolt configuration.

OCPNW maybe for NOS if they have one in stock, or Junkyard for used OEM pump.

Some models of the 5 bolt pumps just need the sixth hole drilled to make into a 6 bolt pump.

Give https://www.partsvoice.com/partsearch a try. I believe you're looking for 2463382

TIP: You can input any series of numbers into the Zip Code field - likely needs to be 7 or more as US zips are seven digits long :)

Good luck!

I am building a driver 170 and I took a few oil pumps to look at. There is aluminium 6 bolt that came with engine, unknown iron 6 bolt and 5 bolt which I bought from Dutra some times ago. Aluminium pump has way larger inlet port than iron pumps, Doug has ported it but stock one is about 1/3 of aluminium port  I bet these have some restrictive flow and is more hard to pump gear?

Why not use the Dutra pump? I believe you can leave out the 6th bolt and seal up any small areas that do not overlap on the gasket with silicone.

Dutra pump is going to different engine. And I added a VW piston squirter to oil pump gear, 6 bolt pump is needed for that.

In the past the gear failure indicated just from oil pressure light. Now came "big bang" and then car was silent.

I had approximately 6000rpm on it when this happened.
From what you say here, I'm surprised you didn't do more damage buzzin this up to 6K RPM.

New parts needed: 4 valves, some rockers, half dozen pushrods. Has to smooth sharp edges from pistons where is some new valve reliefs. Bearings, oilpump, gasket set of course. And STEEL timing gear. I have low mileage timing wheels so I need only BB chain.

This has been every this and then between 5-6000 rpm. I have 205/60R14 tires and 4.10 gears so highways I have use RPM's when passing. Shift point is usually at 5000 and usually I have 5300-5500 at 1/4 mile end.

I have just made new plan. Next setup will have more cam - Hughes 216/220 degrees sound fine as I had plenty of compression pressure to loose (200PSI with Mopar Performance 268 cam). I will also change converter to smaller diameter.

... I dont tell you this has had same 0.06" O.S. cast pistons and still alive...

I have got no reply to my emails from recommended NOS parts company.

Collectors auto supply has 6 bolt version pump. They referenced "castings" this way:

Oil pump Body Casting # 2121678
Oil Pump Cover Casting # 2463986

Do you think I am getting correct one by buying this?
