They would love it. However, w/o a rollbar of some kind, an open top car might not pass tech? Rick might have perspective on that.

Yes I was thinking the same thing. That is something that would need to be checked on. I know convertibles can run so long as the top is up and it is slower than 13.99 I think.

I figured they would want something. I was already thinking about adding a hoop behind the body tub anyway attached to the frame even just for running on the street.

Good idea. I'm sure the track will work with you to the limit of the rules (or common decency). We and they would love to see it sailing down the track!

How is the "top being up" going to protect you ?

Probably the same way that 5 point belts that are 1 day out of certification don't protect you, and 50 year old lap belts do!
