I always recommend this distributor, if you review the recurve articles and recommended distributors you will know that the 3874876 comes with the shortest factory governor slotwhich is 2 crank degrees shorter than the MP distributor, allowing for more initial, and limiting total mechanical advance without having to weld the slot or pay for a $20 limiting disc... and a recondition and spring change and your hipo build is off to the races... There are a couple other later part numbers that use the 9R governor, but 3874876 is the most common part number and easier to find since they were used for super sixes and then for federal package 1 barrel slants after 1978... |

My buddy was finally able to bring his scales home that they use at work for big trucks and the car weighs 1600 lbs!!! Haven't started any of these engine upgrades yet but did fix the dented oil pan and some trans leaks. Making a dash soon so I can get it insured and tagged |
